Akoma has accompanied each stage of the digital transformation, adapting its logistics to the new forms of consumption. Today it manages Planeta Agostini's logistics centre in Barberà del Vallès and international subscriptions from Bolian by Akoma, relying on advanced automation, a robotised station and its own OMS that guarantees efficiency, traceability and fully connected logistics management.
Origins and traditional distribution
Thirty years ago, Akoma began to manage the handling of the emblematic Planeta Agostini collections. At that time, the products were mainly distributed through newsstands and subscriptions, using press couriers and post offices as logistical channels.
This stage laid the foundations for a solid and pioneering relationship, in which Planeta Agostini became a key reference point for Akoma in the evolution of distribution models.
First steps towards underwriting and advanced logistics
The subscriptions marked a turning point in the relationship between Akoma and Planeta Agostini, driving a progressive transition towards more structured and efficient logistics management models.
During this phase, Akoma began to adapt to new operational needs, anticipating the changes that would later define e-commerce.
Digital transformation and the rise of e-commerce
Over the years, the digital transformation brought a new challenge. What used to be bought in kiosks was now bought from anywhere in the world via the internet.
Akoma has been present at every stage of this evolution, guaranteeing efficiency, quality and innovative solutions to accompany the growth of Planeta Agostini's global e-commerce.
